-New Legalisation requires all private homes in Queensland to have interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms installed by January 1, 2027.

-These alarms are hardwired into the mains power and have a backup battery.

-They must be interconnected with every other alarm in the property. This ensures all alarms activate and sound together.
